India: A World of Experiences

Posted in India, Uncategorized by Sharon Pinto on March 26, 2010

The entire globe is aware of the uniqueness of India that is part of the Asian continent. Though it has not succeeded at becoming a developed nation till date, it has found its way to the top as one of the BRICK countries.

Though poverty prominently exists in this country it is still rich in culture and heritage. It can survive for itself as it produces a myriad variety of crops on its fertile land. Everyone has realized what India is, but the sad part still remains-  The people of India still haven’t realized what a hero it has been and how it can can benefit us ‘Indians’ in the future.

Geographically- India is beautiful. It allows you to witness all kinds of landforms and climatic conditions.

East west, north, south and central Indioa provides the traveller with special divided experiences. Although India as a country is too small to hold the different unique aspects of the entire world, it still does… You can experience the deserts of Arabia in Rajasthan, a mini Canada in Kashmir, a Hawaii on Goa, the Amazone in the south-east, an Africa in north-east India or of course, even a lively New York > Mumbaikar style!

Travel Quotes

“People travel to far away places, to watch in fascination the kind of people they ignore at home.” – Dagobert D. Runes

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

Life is a great travel trip, but the problem is that it doesn’t come with a map. We have to search and choose our own ways and companions to reach the destination.

“I love photo’s because they never change. Even if people in it change…the photo’s remain as they are.” – William Shakesphere

Experience is the best teacher.

Mumbai: ___________

Posted in India, Maharashtra, Uncategorized by Sharon Pinto on March 19, 2010

Call Mumbai whatever you want. Its a city full of opportunities, glamour, poverty, niceness as well as luck. Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay is the capital of Maharashtra.

It is the second most populous city in the world and the biggest city in INDIA. Mumbai makes dreams come true and is also known as the Alpha City. Thus it has the guts to survive by itself. After all..it is part of one of the BRICK countries. Tourists are always amazed at the mix of ideas, styles, food, religion and people they get to meet here.

Mumbai is an archipelago of 7 islands…. (Even we ‘Mumbaikars’ couldn’t believe that as kids). These islands were- Bombay Island, Parel, Mazagaon, Mahim, Colaba, Worli and Old Woman’s Island also known as Little Colaba. According to archaelogists these islands were inhabited since the Stone Age.

The city and the suburbs form 2 distinct revenue areas of this island city and the Bandra-Worli sea-link connects the two.

You can’t get enough of this city- not now… never!

What came 1st..Easter or the EGG?

Posted in Easter, India, Uncategorized by Sharon Pinto on March 17, 2010

I just happend to take a sneak peek at the origin of Easter eggs.. Where did they come from from? Who in the world started this?

Well, according to my sources an egg is a symbol of life and friendship not only in Christianity but in many cultures… Not just eggs made of chocolate and marzipan, but the actual salted kind. the Easter Egg tradition began in spring. Some say that was the time when Christ rose from the dead. Some also say that Mary Magdalene went to the court of the Roman Empire with an egg, which symbolized to her that Christ was risen. The Emperor didn’t believe her. He laughed and said- someone rising from the dead  was as likely as the egg in her hand turning red.   Of course, that is exactly what happened:  the egg turned red and she continued to proclaim the good news to the imperial household.     Nobody knows the real origination of this ancient festival of passing on eggs as goodwill. But this tradition is alive till today. It’s either the strength of the tradition that has kept it alive, or the toothy taste of the so called ‘Easter Egg’…

The DSF is over..why should you go to Dubai?

Posted in Dubai, travel photos, Uncategorized by Sharon Pinto on March 15, 2010

The most spectacular buildings have been constructed in Dubai right now. This very city was barren in the 1980’s, but look at it now…its full of life and its better than an oasis. The heat out there would be nothing like you have ever experienced before..But there’s nothing to worry about. You will be kept in an ice-box where ever you go. Example: Step out of your AC room, get into your AC car, enter an AC hotel, etc. (our travel agents make such hotel bookings too you know…yeah its not a big deal)

But if comfort is not what you are looking for and if you’d like to live like a real thirsty traveller in Dubai, get on a quad bike and ride on! I even advice you to check out Dubai city illuminated in the night.. (dont pick your glares and forget your camera’s please)

Every Living Being is a ‘Traveler’

Posted in Uncategorized by Sharon Pinto on March 13, 2010

Let there be no boundaries

People and animals can’t do without movement. Plants: Considered living, also sway with the help of a gale. For what can be done by staying still?… Physical rigidity can leave many things unaccomplished. This is a broad fact; but holds true in various scenarios.
Another fact is the more you walk, the more you work… the more your eyes and minds travel, the more you learn!

You are a traveler no matter where you are. Even if you don’t cross the boundaries of your home, you still travel.

That’s why the Travellers Zoo was made. It was made for the ‘flamboyant you’.
